Aaakk… yes, it’s been 1 year i left this blog.. but i’m trying to write again in my spare time this year. (i hope so..)
Three days ago, on 26 January was a public holiday for Australia Day. For youwho don’t know what day it is, it’s like an Independence Day celebration (in Indonesia 17 Agustus-an) where people wearing certain nice outfits doing walking parade along the street in city, usually there’s morning ceremony in Remembrance Shrine (Melbourne) to recall Australia soldiers who died in war.
Actually i don’t really know the history back of Australia Day until i’m check (before i write this) on internet. It’s said that Australia Day, 26 January, is the anniversary of the arrival of the First Fleet of 11 convict ships from Great Britain, and the raising of the Union Jack at Sydney Cove by its commander Captain Arthur Phillip, in 1788. Yea, so maybe besides Aborigin people, the native inhabitants of Australia are British convict.. (?..?)
This’s my 3rd Australia Day in here, and this year i’m just working.. wkwk… ^^ Well, i won’t share my boring story at work, but will show some pictures that taken on Australia Day 2016. It was my first time to see Australia Day parade, it was warm sunny day. Along Swanston street there’s already blockade for people who want watch the parade (my English so baaadd… :(). There are many people (not many actually.. :p) who already lining along blockade, i got a spot in the bridge near Yarra river and trying take interesting pictures and video, after about 45 minutes i went home. For me it wasn’t interesting just to see parade, Aussie people usually spend Australia Day by having barbie (BBQ) with family and friends.
